| Our History |
| The original Mister Butler franchise was founded in Portland, Oregon in the early 1980s. Rebecca Lynch formed her own branch in 1996 and named her business Mister Butler II.
After seven years of successfully running her business and building up her client base, her husband Michael joined the business, leaving his job at Chown Hardware, where he had worked for 13 years.
The couple has been working together since May of 2003 and the business has grown at such a rapid rate that Michael was able to branch off in 2005 and form Mister Butler III. |
| Our Philosophy |
| We take pride in our performance and we value our relationships with our clients. We want our clients to feel comfortable about who they let into their homes. So we try to establish a rapport at our initial meeting and let it grow with each cleaning appointment. And we run every aspect of the business ourselves, so our clients know who will be cleaning their homes and who to contact with questions or concerns. It's because of this philosophy that we've met some wonderful people over the years, most of whom are still Mister Butler II clients.
Most services send a random crew to clean a home and there's little, if any, personal relationship between the service and the client. We make it a point to get to know our clients. We meet their children and are greeted at the door by their pets. In turn, our clients also learn about our family. And our relationships don't end when we leave our clients' homes after cleaning them. We make ourselves available to them from the time we wake up in the morning until we go to bed at night and they know they can contact us if they need to. Our philosophy makes for a much more rewarding experience.
One of the best compliments we ever received came from a client, who is an ex-nun, who said: "After you've left my house, I can still feel your spirits. It's as if angels were in my house."
That's the kind of thing that sets us apart from other services. |
| Our Clients |
| We have a diverse client base ranging from professionals to housewives and homemakers, young couples just starting out, and retirees. We have clients with lots of kids, lots of pets, or both. We also have clients who have neither. We clean all different sizes of house ranging from mansions to condos. Most of our clients live in the Portland area, but we have some in Lake Oswego and West Linn, Tigard, and Beaverton, and we're looking to expand into Gresham. |
| Our Equipment and Supplies |
| Unlike some services who use their clients' cleaning supplies and equipment, we use our own supplies and equipment. We use nothing but professional, contractor-grade equipment. Our vacuums are powerful and they automatically adjust to the height of the floor surface, which makes for a more efficient performance. The dust mops, damp mops, and feather dusters we use come from a janitorial supply store and are professional grade.
The all-purpose cleaner we use is 100% natural and environmentally friendly. Most importantly, it won't harm children or pets. We do, however, use other products that are designed for surfaces that don't always respond to the all-purpose cleaner. These are fantastic products that have been used without incident for years and our clients are very happy with the results. We are sensitive to children, though, and we don't use those products in areas where they might come in contact with them. | |
